14-day Express Tourist Visa:

Duration: 14 days

For 14-day Express Tourist Visa, you have to pay AED 497 (Approx. Rs 9,700*). 

30 days Single Entry short-term Tourist visa:

For individuals looking to fly for a limited period in the UAE (< 30 days).

Validity: It is valid for 60 days from the date of issue.

Duration: 30 days

For 30 days Single Entry short-term Tourist visa, you have to pay AED 350 (Approx. Rs 6,800).

90 days Single entry Long-term Tourist visa:

This visa is for individuals who want to fly for an extended period in the UAE (more than 30 days and < 90 days).

Validity: It is valid for 60 days from the date of issue.

Duration: 90 days

For 90 days Single entry Long-term Tourist visa, you have to pay AED 1000 (Approx. Rs 19,600).

30 days Multi-Entry Short-Term Tourist Visa:

Visa for service (Single Entry only):

For people going for a short stay in the UAE for a conference or meeting, etc., this visa is recommended.

Note: 

Unless they are traveling with their parents. The UAE government does not allow females under the age of 18 to apply for a tourist visa.

The 30-day tourist visa (single and multi-entry) can also be extended up to 2 times for a most 60-day extension. The cost per extension is AED 600.

How does the UAE Tourist Visa apply?

The UAE Embassy does not issue tourist visas. To receive a UAE tourist visa, you have three options;

3.Tourist Visa via UAE Hotels

UAE Visit Visa

Family members, relatives of Indian people who have a residency permit in the UAE can get a UAE Visit Visa. The holder of the residency supports family/friends from India’s Visit Visa.

30 days Single Entry short-term Tourist visa:

How do you apply for a UAE Visit Visa?

A sponsor in the UAE who can sponsor your Visit Visa is the first thing you need.

It may be a UAE resident, a business, or a hotel allowed in the UAE to operate. In this scenario, ask your sponsor to help you apply for the Visit Visa.

Note: Residents can sponsor a UAE Visit Visa for their family, relatives, or friends. A UAE resident must earn a least monthly AED 4000 to 5000 to support a family member. A minimum monthly salary of AED 6000 to 7000 is required for sponsoring a relative. The minimum wage for sponsoring a friend in the UAE should be AED 10,000.

Also, per visit visa supported by the citizen, you may require a deposit amount of AED 2000. After you provide evidence of leaving the UAE within four working days, this amount will be refunded to you.

Documents required to apply for UAE Visit Visa

  • You can apply for the invitation card as a document along with the other required documents. If you are going to the UAE to visit your family or friends for a special event or invite a company.
  • Letter of coverage indicating the intent and length of the visit.
  • Valid Indian Passport, valid for at least six months from the date of entry into the UAE.
  • A scanned color copy of your Passport’s first and last pages.
  • Passport copy and residential address of the member of your family who invited you to the UAE.

Note: It is illegal to operate in the UAE with or without pay while on a tourist visa.

UAE Transit Visa

For travelers who are only traveling through the UAE and making a stop there. The UAE Transit Visa is preferred. They can use the transit visa to go sightseeing or visit friends in the country while on their UAE’s layover.

48 hours Transit Visa: 

This visa will be valid for 48 hours only. So suitable for travelers who would not spend more than two days in the UAE. Such as those who have a business meeting in the UAE. Or who stop there while traveling to another country.

Validity: It is valid for 14 days from the date of issue.

Duration: 48 hours

Price: Free

The government of the UAE offers free transit visas beginning in June 2018 for up to 48 hours.

96 hours Transit Visa:

This visa will be valid for 48 hours only. So, suitable for travelers who would not spend more than two days in the UAE. Such as those who have a business meeting in the UAE or who stop there while traveling to another country.

Validity: It is valid for 14 days from the date of issue.

Duration: 96 hours 

For 96 hours Transit Visa, you have to pay up to AED 100 (Approx. Rs 1,900).

Please note: To apply for this visa, the layover must be longer than 8 hours.

Within 48/96 hours, one must have an onward flight ticket corresponding to the 48/96 hour transit visa in hand. This is a non-extendable visa.

How to apply for a transit visa from the UAE?

  1. Before your flight, you can apply for a UAE Transit Visa only via the airline you fly to. They will help you get the Visa if you through a travel agent. But the visit visa application will be routed through your airline. 
  2. During your transit period, have a verified hotel reservation in the UAE. Pre-plan the visit before your travel date and have the visit visa issued. Please note that the Visa is only valid for use within 14 days of the issue’s date.

Documents required to apply for a transit visa for UAE

  • Valid Indian Passport, valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into the UAE.
  • A scanned color copy of your passport’s first and last pages.
  • Verified onward flight ticket within the transit period from the UAE.
  • UAE Hotel Reservation Confirmed.
  • Two-color photo with a scale of 4.3 * 5.5 cms. It should be taken against a white background and visible to at least 80% of the face.

 UAE Work Visa/UAE Employment Visa

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) issues the UAE Work Permit. It allows a foreigner to work in the UAE.

How to apply for a work permit from the UAE?

For the permit, the employer needs to apply to the (more). This permit will be valid for two months from the date of issue and will allow the worker to enter the UAE.

When the worker enters the UAE based on his/her work permit. It must complete the remaining formalities within two months. 

The formality includes:

  • One must have a medical examination.
  • You must get the UAE Resident Identification Card (Emirates ID), Labour Card.
  • You must have stamped on their passport with a work residency permit. 

All these procedures are taken care of by the organization supporting the worker. And they will bear the expense of the work visa.

Note: 

The employee is part of the UAE workforce and has what is called a work residency permit. Via the work residency visa, they will then sponsor and carry their families over to the UAE. 

Necessary documentation to apply for the UAE Work Permit

  • Valid Indian passport. It should be valid for at least six months from the date of entry into the UAE.
  • The sponsor/employer’s entry permit.
  • Police clearance certificates issued attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India. By the passport office or local police station.
  • Certificate of medical from any of the 17 accredited medical centers in India.

UAE Visa for Residency

Depending on the resident visa, a UAE residency visa allows you to remain in the UAE for 2 to 3 years.

There are three forms of house visa (one in the previous section has already been covered);

  1. Residency in the UAE by jobs.
  2. Residence by buying real estate in the UAE.
  3. Residency through the registration of a business in the UAE.

How can I receive a UAE Residence Visa?

Residency by jobs in the UAE:

The company will fund their residency visa when a foreigner gets employed in a UAE company.

Residency by purchasing a property in the UAE:

You become eligible for residence when you buy real estate in the UAE. The property acquired must have a value of at least AED 1 million. This form of residency visa is valid for two years and has to be extended after that period. The right to work in the UAE is not granted.

Residency by registering a business in the UAE:

A person can get possession by writing a company in the Emirates or one of the free zones there. The business must have a license on a shareholding basis with a local Emirati. This citizenship is valid for three years, after which it has to be renewed.

  • A copy of a valid Indian passport (valid for at least six months).
  • Certificate of Birth.
  • License to Driver
  • Certificate of Marriage (if applicable)
  • Certificate in Medicine
  • Police clearance certificates issued attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India. 
  • Certification of medical testing from any of the 17 accredited GAMCA centers in India.
  • Passport size photos with a white backdrop and at least 80% clear face.
  • Initial and photocopied Investment Articles.

Renewing your UAE Visa for Residence

Suppose your UAE Residency Visa is about to expire. You will soon have to begin the renewal process to continue living or working legally in the UAE.

From the end of your Residency Visa, you get a 30 day grace period, but don’t wait until then. And after the end of the grace period, if you have not renewed your visa, get prepared for fines.

For the first six months, 25 AED per day (180 days)

During the second 6 months, 50 AED per day (180 days)

AED 100 a day after one year or more has passed.

And your Emirates ID card also expires with it with the end of your Residency Visa. Make sure the company takes up the renewal of visas on time.

Canceling your UAE Visa for residence

If you are preparing to leave the UAE, you can cancel your residency visa before you go.

Only your sponsor (family or company) may initiate an application to cancel your visa.

You will get a 30 day grace period to either leave the country. Or get another residency visa once your house visa is revoked.

Visa-on-Arrival UAE

Visa-on-Arrival for Indian people with a valid US Visa (least validity of 6 months). The UAE government has recently introduced it. This visa is valid for 14 days and may be extended once for more fees of AED 270.

How to Get Indian Citizens’ UAE Visa-on-Arrival?

  1. The Indian national must have a valid US visa granted by the United States of America. It should have the least validity of 6 months or hold a Green Card.
  2. The holder of the Indian Passport must be a citizen of the United Kingdom. Or have citizenship from other European countries (validity of at least six months).

A service fee of AED 100 and AED 20 for entry permission will be available.

For a charge of AED 250 and AED 20 for service fees, the visa period may be extended. The extension entitles the traveler to stay for another 28 days.

Note: 

Overstaying your visa would suggest a fine of AED 100 per more day. And AED 200 for the country’s departure permit.
