How to apply for asylum in Brazil?
According to the Brazilian Refugee Law, a refugee is anyone who flees his or her home country because of a well-founded fear of persecution for reasons of race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group, or because of a situation of grave and widespread human rights violation in his or her home country. This can occur, for example, when a person’s life, liberty, or physical integrity is seriously jeopardized in their respective home country.
