How to get a visa for Kenya?

Prior to entering the Republic of Kenya, a visa is required. At the port of entry, the eVisa printout must be presented. All travellers flying to Kenya from countries that require visas (including US residents) must apply for and get an e-visa before boarding a plane, as no visas will be provided on arrival.

Step 1: 
Visit and click on create eVisa account. This is the online government platform to apply for Kenya Visa.
Select Department of Immigration services once you’ve logged in. Select the option to submit an application. Choose a Kenyan Visa. Choose a Visa type and carefully read the instructions.
Step 2:
Fill in the application form. Pay Using visa card, MasterCard, and other debit cards. Await approval via email, then download and print the eVisa from your eCitizen account. Present your printed eVisa to the immigration officer at the port of entry.

Requirements for visa application in Kenya

To apply for a Kenyan visa, you’ll need the following items.

  • A digital passport photo with a maximum resolution of 500px x 500px.
  •  Scanned copy or photo of your passport’s biodata page (the page with your photo, name and biographical data).
  • For online payments, you’ll need a credit card (Visa or MasterCard Credit or Debit card).
  • Invitation letters, hotel reservations, or travel itineraries are examples of additional documents.

Diplomatic Visa: Issued to holders of diplomatic passports who are on official duty for a single or many entries.
